Who we are

Leeds Prostate Cancer Support Group (LPCSG) is a patient-led voluntary support group for people affected by prostate cancer, together with their partners, relatives and friends.

What personal information we collect

Membership information

For members of LPCSG, we keep only your name and email address. These details may be provided when you complete an attendance list at an LPCSG meeting or when you register through our website.

We use this information to communicate with members about LPCSG meetings, events and relevant support information.

Contact form enquiries

If you contact us through the website, we use the name, email address and message you provide to respond to your enquiry. Contacting us does not automatically add you to the LPCSG membership mailing list.

Website accounts

If you register for an account on the website, WordPress stores the information associated with your user account so that the account can operate. Website administrators can view and manage this information where necessary for administration of the site.

Why we use your information

We use personal information only where it is needed to administer LPCSG membership, communicate with members, respond to enquiries and operate the website.

Who we share information with

LPCSG does not sell members’ personal information or provide the membership list to other organisations for their own marketing purposes.

Like most websites, the LPCSG website relies on service providers involved in hosting, security, email and website operation. Information may be processed by those services where necessary to provide and protect the website and its communications.

How long we keep information

Membership information is retained for the current year and the previous four years.

Information submitted through the contact form is retained only as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any appropriate follow-up or administrative requirements.

Information associated with a website account may be retained while the account remains in use and as necessary for website administration, legal or security purposes.

How we protect information

The LPCSG membership list is administered by a Committee member and is regularly backed up. Access to personal information is limited to those who need it for the administration and operation of LPCSG and its website.

Cookies

The website may use cookies that are necessary for features such as signing in and maintaining a website session. When you log in, WordPress may use cookies to remember your login and display preferences. Logging out removes the login cookies.

Other services used by or embedded in the website may also set cookies in accordance with their own privacy practices.

Embedded content and external websites

Pages on this site may include or link to content provided by other organisations, such as videos, articles or other resources. When you interact with embedded content or visit an external website, that organisation may collect information about your visit and may use cookies or similar technologies. Their own privacy policies apply to their services.

Your rights and choices

You may ask us what personal information LPCSG holds about you and ask for inaccurate information to be corrected. You may also ask us to delete personal information where appropriate.

If you no longer wish to receive LPCSG membership emails, you can use the unsubscribe option provided in our emails or contact LPCSG and ask to be removed from the mailing list.

If you have a website account, you may also ask us about the personal information associated with that account and request its correction or deletion where appropriate. Some information may need to be retained where required for administrative, legal or security purposes.
